- Smoking in public places outside of the designated areas is forbidden.
- Bring cloth bags when you travel to Kenya: plastic bags are not permitted in Kenya as a way to help the environment.
- Conservative dressing in predominantly Muslim areas of Kenya is advised.
- Most of the population is Christian (82%). It’s best to avoid talking negatively about religion in front of Kenyans.
- Besides Christianity, the second most common religion found amongst Kenyans is Islam (11,2%).
- Homosexuality is penalized by law in Kenya.
- Kenyans greatly respect the elders. You should avoid contradicting or disagreeing with people older than you.
